Scrapple no longer meets so this blog has become my own way to keep things that interest me: articles about research libraries providing access to scholarly output, things that happen in my day, stuff I might use in a class some day, things I don't want to forget, you know.
In library school my friends and I dreamed about all sorts of jobs like these. I even had a friend who did this for a while. He said it was fun at first, but after a while it got real old checking out romance novels.
Susan, I agree that the job itself sounds a bit monotonous, but 3-6 months of monotony on a cruise ship would still be pretty tempting if I weren't still fairly enamoured of my current job.

Too bad they don't give sabbaticals here. I wouldn't want to do that forever but a year would be nice.
You know, Steve worked on a some kind of ship before he came here. Not a cruise ship, though.
